The Magic Valley Chess Club was organized in 1990 to support Chess in the Twin Falls, Buhl, Filer, Gooding, Wendell, Burley, Oakley and Rupert areas. It has meet at various places including The College of Southern Idaho, the First Baptist Church, Salvation Army and Barnes and Noble bookstore.
The MVCC has acted as host club for the Idaho Closed Championship on numerous occasions as well as the Idaho Open, Southern Idaho Open, Idaho Class Championships, the Idaho vs. Utah match, intercity matches against the Boise Chess Club as well as organizing an annual Magic Valley Championship.
The Magic Valley Chess Club is currently meeting from 6:00-10:00p.m. the second and fourth Mondays of the month at Barnes and Noble Booksellers, 1239 Pole Line Road in Twin Falls.
